The First Tee of Atlanta is looking for adult volunteers that are interested in positively impacting the lives of young people. If you enjoy working with young people and have the time to commit to at least one session, (sessions last for 8 to 10 weeks) you may want to consider our program. We are always looking for dependable volunteers, and we have several opportunities for a potential volunteer to consider.

Volunteer Instructors for the youth program teach golf and life skill in an “outdoor classroom” on the range and golf course of John A. White Golf Course. Instructors must know and be able to demonstrate the basic grip, stance, and swing. There are many classes to choose from. You do not have to be a scratch golfer.

2017 Classes:
Saturdays 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM
Saturdays 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM
Saturdays 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM
Browns Mill Golf Course and Sugar Creek Golf Course

Currently, we are about to begin our first session of the year, which began on February 18th and will run through April. We have 2 time slots with a HUGE need of volunteers (11:30AM and 1:30PM) and you are welcomed to volunteer for any and/or all time slots! There is also an opportunity to volunteer at our program location over at Browns Mill Golf Course, or Sugar Creek Golf Course, where classes are held at 11:30 AM and 1:30PM respectively. All classes are 1.5 hours long.

We are also seeking volunteers for the Golf Course and Youth Program Operations in the following areas:

Administration – Monday – Fridays during office hours
Marshalls – Monday – Sundays during golf course operation hours
Starters – Monday – Sundays during golf course operation hours
Range Pickers – Monday – Sundays during golf course operation hours
Special Events – As Needed
Fundraising Events – As Needed

The volunteer application and information package is available here.

The additional part of the Volunteer On Boarding process is a satisfactory background check. As you can imagine, it is a requirement as we work closely with children. To speed up the entire process, you may want to go ahead and get your background check taken care of. In order to do that, you will need to get a $10 Money Order and go to:

The City of Atlanta Police Department
Background Check Dept.
3493 Donald Lee Hollowell Pkwy NW
Atlanta, GA 30331
404-546-4396 (Telephone)

For additional information on the application process, please contact Jenae Jenkins at (404) 756-1868 or by e-mail at admin@thefirstteeatlanta.org.
